Female Guitarists Who Play the Blues | Shred on the Guitar | Women Guitar Players of all Levels | The Best in Female Guitar Music | from Blues to Heavy Metal to Jazz and in between.
Every success story in the guitar world begins with many countless hours of practicing the instrument. And for Female Guitarists, it isn’t any different. For most beginning guitarists, the road to mastery of the guitar is steep, thorny and full of frustrating moments. I was fortunate to have had some outstanding guitar teachers in my younger formative guitar years. As well as played with some amazing musicians who weren’t shy to show me the ropes and, more importantly, instilled in me an unquenchable thirst for music knowledge, the ‘know-how’ and respect for the guitar.
However — I also know that some of my female guitarist friends weren’t so fortunate. In fact — judging from their stories — a few have felt quite intimidated by other guitarists and the business. Given that there weren’t a whole lot of women guitarists in bands. Thankfully, that is changing.
I am here to give back
some of that knowledge and help YOU become the guitarist you envision to be. In guitar playing there is no ‘one size fits all’. On the contrary. Many sizes fit many! That’s how versatile modern guitar playing has become. That holds true for both, male and female guitarists. I am also here to offer up advice and lessons from a female guitarist’s point of view. The last decade has seen an explosion of female guitarists coming onto the music scene and hell yeah!
IT’S ABOUT TIME!
I felt mighty lonely there for a while. Not any longer.
I grew up in Düsseldorf, Germany and came to the USA years ago on a mission of adventure and music. Have not been disappointed. Aside from recording and touring, I teach guitar and music in Los Angeles, California. My students come from all backgrounds and ages.. Frankly, lots of women and girls feel more comfortable with a female guitar teacher. And the guys just wanna check me out sometimes. Like..’can she really play’ and teach too?’ Well guys…. yes and yes!
I am writing new guitar tutorials and music articles
on the finer points of guitar playing. Really all sorts of things, from basic beginning guitar to more advanced topics like using extended and altered chords in symmetrical formations to create interesting sequences. You strike me as the kind of person who adores this sort of thing!.
